I am having the insulation in my loft topped up for free by british gas. they are putting an extra 8" in on top of the insulation that already sits in the loft and lies just below the joists.. Loft legs are simple, inexpensive plastic supports that are secured to the ceiling joists or roof trusses. insulation is installed around the loft legs and loft boards are screwed directly onto the top of the legs. the resulting raised floor is extremely strong and the floor can be installed quickly with basic diy skills..
